Sweet Rio is a teacup Chihuahua who was found abandoned in a cat carrier. Her front two legs were broken, and someone had tried to splint them with popsicle sticks -- which wasn't working, and the dirty bandages had never been changed, so they were creating infections and more problems. Rio needed help, but Dr. Atkins needed to wait a little for Rio's skin to heal.
Yesterday, Rio was finally able to get proper casts and begin healing. Here she is in her cute red casts with pink hearts.
She's in great spirits and even visited Pat Kelly yesterday at Lazer 99.3's Pat's Pets fundraiser. She will be up for adoption after he has healed.
